Grind Machinist II – 3rd Shift

About the role

Moog is seeking a skilled Grind Machinist II for the 3rd shift at its Buffalo, NY facility. The role involves manufacturing high‑precision components for aerospace and defense programs such as the F‑35, MQ‑25, and FLRAA.

Key responsibilities

• Interpret blueprints, operation sheets and verbal instructions to produce complex parts.
• Select, dress and operate cylindrical, internal or surface grinders to achieve tolerances of .001 +/- .0005.
• Set up and align irregularly shaped workpieces, choose appropriate wheels, speeds and feeds.
• Inspect finished parts, adjust gauging equipment and identify any deviations.
• Participate in cell planning and problem‑solving activities.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED (preferred) and ability to follow written and computer instructions in English.
• At least 1 year of experience as a Grind Machinist.
• Competency in reading blueprints and work instructions.
• Eligibility to enroll in Moog’s FAA Drug & Alcohol Program as required by FAA regulations.
