Value Stream Manager

About the role

Moog is seeking a Value Stream Manager to lead the Space Propulsion Systems Business Unit within its Space & Defense Group. This onsite position in Buffalo, NY (or nearby East Aurora/Niagara Falls) will drive continuous improvement across the entire value stream, from planning to product delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Own the Value Stream Improvement Plan (VSIP) covering business planning, process design, product build, delivery and service.
• Act as a change agent, eliminating waste and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
• Maintain and improve SQDC performance and visual management systems.
• Coach and mentor supervisors, team leaders and associates to grow the value‑stream team.
• Collaborate with process owners to implement standard work and refine internal processes.
• Partner with resource managers to identify skill gaps and develop workforce capabilities.
• Provide regular performance feedback to core team members and influence the value‑stream P&L.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical or business discipline.
• Minimum 7 years of leadership experience in a functional area.
• Ability to obtain a U.S. security clearance.
• Proven track record of leading major projects and building confidence in decision‑making.
• Experience with lean production, Kaizen, LMS and other process‑improvement tools.
• Strong negotiation skills and ability to set top‑level value‑stream objectives.
• Demonstrated capability to develop robust contingency plans and deliver effective feedback.
