Graduate Student Trainee

About the role

The Graduate Student Trainee will provide community‑based therapy services to children and families, completing intake assessments, individual and group psychotherapy, crisis intervention, and case management while meeting weekly service delivery expectations.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct in‑office and in‑school therapy sessions and develop treatment plans with clients.
• Maintain accurate electronic health records in EXYM and document assessments, progress notes, and discharge summaries.
• Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings, case conferences, and weekly supervision.
• Provide outreach to build a caseload and ensure at least 225 billable hours annually.

Required profile

• Currently pursuing an MFT, MPCC, MSW or related MA and approved for practicum placement.
• Reliable automobile with valid California driver’s license and insurance (mileage reimbursed).
• Pass pre‑employment screenings including background check, drug test, and eligibility verification.
• Ability to work 8‑10 onsite hours per week during regular clinical hours.

Required skills

• Bilingual English/Spanish (preferred).
• Knowledge of child abuse and crisis intervention techniques.
• Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
• TB test clearance (renewed every two years).
