Referrals Specialist - Bilingual

About the role

The Referrals Specialist is a six‑month contracted position focused on managing client referrals, coordinating services, and ensuring timely access to care for children and families served by Counseling4Kids.

Key responsibilities

• Assign, track, and update all incoming client referrals and transfers, including obtaining necessary releases and checking insurance eligibility.
• Enter and maintain client data in IBHIS and Exym systems, open/close episodes, and conduct PHI checks.
• Prioritize referrals based on urgency, coordinate therapist assignments, and manage medication referral processes.
• Generate and analyze departmental reports, maintain compliance with DMH tracking systems, and support clinical documentation.
• Provide reception support, translation/interpretation services, and general administrative assistance as needed.

Required profile

• BA in Psychology, Social Work, or related field, OR AA with 2 years experience, OR 4 years experience in a mental‑health agency.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English and Spanish.
• Excellent organizational, multitasking, and time‑management abilities.
