About the role

The Governor’s Office of Planning and Budget (OPB) is offering a Spring 2027 graduate internship in Atlanta. Interns will gain hands‑on experience with the state budgeting and legislative processes while supporting the Governor’s strategic initiatives.

Key responsibilities

Track legislative activity during the 2027 Georgia General Assembly session, including committee and floor proceedings.
Research policy areas such as education, health, public safety, economic development, and transportation to assess budgetary impacts.
Assist in reviewing agency operating budgets and preparing recommendations for fiscal stewardship.
Contribute to the development of the state’s strategic plan and provide demographic and statistical data.

Required profile

Graduate student in public administration, public policy, political science, economics or a related field.
Current GPA of 3.2 or higher.
Strong research, writing and analytical abilities.
Knowledge of Georgia’s legislative and committee processes is a plus.
