Government Affairs Manager – Tennessee

About the role

SpaceX is seeking a Government Affairs Manager to lead its public‑affairs efforts in Tennessee. You will act as the primary liaison between SpaceX, SpaceXAI and local and state officials, community leaders, and educational institutions.

Key responsibilities

• Engage with civic leaders across Memphis and the wider Tennessee region to support SpaceX priorities.
• Develop, maintain, and expand a network of relationships with local government officials, lawmakers, and regulatory decision‑makers.
• Monitor and analyze local and regional policy developments and produce research‑based briefing materials.
• Collaborate with the Communications team to identify outreach and messaging opportunities.
• Support the Director of Government Affairs on statewide initiatives and crisis/issue management.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree.
• 5+ years experience in public affairs, government policy, advocacy, or legislative navigation.
• Proven ability to build strong relationships with community leaders and government officials in Tennessee.
• Demonstrated track record of achieving measurable outcomes through political or community engagement.
• Knowledge of local government affairs practices and corporate community‑relations issues.
• Passion for SpaceX’s mission.
