Google Cloud Architect – Data Migration & Engineering

About the role

As a Google Cloud Architect you will guide the U.S. Air Force in ingesting, storing, processing, and visualizing data on Google Cloud Platform. You will lead data migration projects, design large‑scale processing systems, and deliver on‑site workshops.

Key responsibilities

• Act as a trusted technical advisor to the Air Force, solving complex data challenges.
• Analyze on‑premises and cloud database environments and recommend optimal designs for performance and deployment on GCP.
• Develop and deliver best‑practice documentation, tutorials, sample code, and technical presentations for diverse stakeholders.
• Travel up to 30% of the time for on‑site meetings, technical reviews, and delivery activities.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Minimum 6 years of experience with data migration strategies and production system moves.
• At least 6 years of software development experience in Java, Python, or Go.
• U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain a Top Secret security clearance.

Required skills

• Google Cloud Platform services (CloudSQL, Datastore, Firestore, Cloud Spanner).
• Database technologies: PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQL Server, Oracle.
• Cloud database services: Amazon RDS, Aurora, DynamoDB, ElastiCache.
• Strong SQL proficiency and performance‑tuning expertise.
• Programming languages: Java, Python, Go.
