Geotechnical Engineer (PE) – Transportation & Infrastructure

About the role

ACCIONA is seeking a licensed Professional Engineer (PE) to lead geotechnical engineering design and construction support for major transportation and heavy‑civil infrastructure projects. The role involves coordinating with multidisciplinary teams, ensuring compliance with codes, and delivering practical, constructible solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Perform and oversee geotechnical design, including foundations, retaining walls, slopes, earthworks, and ground improvement.
• Develop and review geotechnical investigation programs (soil borings, in‑situ and laboratory testing) and interpret subsurface conditions.
• Serve as Engineer of Record, signing and sealing design packages in accordance with licensure requirements.
• Prepare and review geotechnical reports, calculations, drawings, technical memoranda, and specifications.
• Review contractor submittals, shop drawings, method statements, RFIs, and NCRs, providing timely technical responses.
• Provide on‑site construction assistance, including field inspections and support for excavation and foundation activities.

Required profile

• Professional Engineer (PE) license.
• Experience with transportation and heavy‑civil projects, familiar with AASHTO, FHWA, ASTM, and State DOT criteria.
• Ability to sign and seal engineering documents.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
