Geospatial Analyst II

About the role

Join Texas A&M Forest Service’s integrated technology team to develop innovative geospatial solutions that enhance wildfire preparedness and response across Texas. This full‑time, on‑site position supports emergency managers and firefighters with data‑driven insights.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and enhance data‑driven solutions for wildfire response and resource management.
• Conduct advanced geospatial analyses on complex tabular, vector, and raster datasets.
• Automate workflows to improve efficiency and response times.
• Communicate insights through reports, visualizations, and interactive platforms.
• Support division collaboration, program messaging, and agency geospatial working groups.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in forestry, natural resources, spatial sciences, emergency management, or related field.
• Minimum 4 years of experience in geospatial or statistical analysis (advanced degree may substitute).
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and independent project management skills.
• Ability to communicate technical concepts to non‑technical audiences.

Required skills

• Proficiency with ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online, Survey123, Field Maps, Experience Builder, Operations Dashboard.
• Strong Python programming skills.
• Working knowledge of relational databases.
• Familiarity with Azure Functions, Logic Apps, and Microsoft Office.
