General Warehouse Associate (4:30 AM - 1 PM)

About the role

HD Supply is hiring a General Warehouse Associate in Charlotte, NC, working Monday to Friday from 4:30 AM to 1:00 PM with no weekends. The position is full time and non-exempt, starting at $16.50 per hour. The associate works across several departments of a distribution center, including case pick, shipping, receiving, returns, loading, order processing and replenishment, and operates material handling equipment to move inventory.

Key responsibilities

• Use material handling equipment to locate and deliver products, supplies and equipment to designated areas.
• Assist with staging and loading orders into trucks for customer delivery.
• Verify the quantity and quality of incoming products from vendors and distribution centers.
• Collect items for customer orders using packing list information, including building and wrapping pallets.
• Inspect stock for wear and defects and notify management of inventory issues.
• Return misplaced products to their proper storage areas.
• Maintain a clean working environment in line with company safety policies.
• Perform inventory control functions as needed and refer complex problems to the supervisor.

Required profile

• At least 18 years of age and able to pass a drug test.
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs, walk, move, push and pull product, and stand for long periods.
• Willingness to train on order pickers, cherry pickers, forklifts, electric pallet jacks or similar equipment.
• HS diploma or GED strongly preferred; generally 2-5 years of experience in the area of responsibility.

Required skills

• Ability to understand written material.
• An edge: experience separating, staging and loading freight, and MHE/forklift experience.
