GEMSIS System Administrator

About the role

The State of Georgia is seeking a GEMSIS System Administrator to manage and monitor the GEMSIS software and data repository systems supporting EMS and Systems of Care. This position provides technical assistance and training to licensed agencies and hospitals across the state.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate, manage, and monitor GEMSIS software and data repositories.
• Provide supervision, technical assistance, and training to licensees and designated hospitals.
• Monitor data import/export errors and prepare required reports.
• Develop ad‑hoc reports and present data at conferences and meetings.
• Assist with data collection manuals, policies, procedures, and EMS documentation guidance.
• Participate in state and national data meetings, including NASEMSO and NEMSIS Data Manager meetings.
• Support disaster data analysis and maintain department communication platforms.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
• Four years of relevant experience (or one year at a lower‑level Healthcare Program Consultant position).
• Seven years of experience preferred, especially with EMS systems.
• Understanding of privacy laws and standards.

Required skills

• Knowledge of EMS systems.
• Familiarity with GEMSIS and NEMSIS data standards (Version 2 and 3).
• Experience in report building, data analysis, and reporting.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
