Gastroenterology Physician – Academic & Clinical Role

About the role

This full‑time Gastroenterology Physician position is located about 90 minutes from Dallas in a rapidly growing region with excellent schools and recreational amenities. The role combines inpatient consults, outpatient endoscopy, and clinic duties while offering faculty appointment at a local medical school.

Key responsibilities

• Provide inpatient consults and participate in an equal‑rotation call schedule.
• Perform outpatient endoscopic procedures and manage a busy gastroenterology clinic.
• Teach and mentor medical students, residents, and fellows.
• Engage in educational, leadership, and research activities.
• Collaborate with high‑volume surgical, interventional radiology, and oncology teams.

Required profile

• Board‑certified or board‑eligible gastroenterologist.
• Experience in inpatient consults, endoscopy, and outpatient clinic management.
• Interest in academic medicine and mentorship of trainees.
• Ability to work in a multidisciplinary, high‑volume referral center.

Required skills

• Proficiency with EPIC EMR, including Smart Scribe functionality.
• Endoscopic procedural skills.
