Full‑Time Registered Nurse – Progressive Care Respiratory

About the role

The University of Miami Health System is seeking a full‑time Registered Nurse to join its Progressive Care Respiratory unit in the UTower facility. The RN will provide direct patient care, coordinate with interdisciplinary teams, and support patient and family education.

Key responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care for patients in progressive care respiratory settings.
• Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Document patient information accurately in the electronic health record.
• Provide teaching and support to patients and families regarding respiratory care and recovery.

Required profile

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program; BSN preferred (ASN graduates must complete BSN within two years).
• Valid Florida Registered Nurse license.
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications.
• Minimum one year of medical‑surgical nursing experience.

Required skills

• Proficiency in nursing assessment and clinical decision‑making.
• Ability to work effectively within an interdisciplinary team.
• Strong communication skills for patient and family education.
