About the role

Join UT Health East Texas EMS/AIR 1 as a full‑time 911 Operator in Tyler, TX. You will be the first point of contact for ambulance requests, applying established medical protocols to ensure rapid, safe patient care.

Key responsibilities

• Receive and process ambulance service requests by telephone following approved medical protocols.
• Communicate clearly and professionally with internal teams, emergency responders, and the public.
• Document calls accurately and generate routine reports as required.

Required profile

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Ability to read, interpret, and follow safety rules, protocol manuals, and written instructions.
• Strong problem‑solving skills in situations with limited standardization.

Required skills

• Emergency Medical Dispatch (training provided, certification required within 60 days).
• Accurate use of MPDS EMD protocols after training.
