About the role
Alphanumeric is hiring a Senior Software Engineer to join a partner’s engineering team in Richmond, VA. The role focuses on building scalable, high‑performance web applications and data pipelines that support critical analytics for a leading financial and insurance organization.
Key responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain modern data and application solutions using Postgres SQL, Azure Synapse, Python, and PySpark.
- Develop and optimize scalable web applications, data pipelines, and workflows.
- Troubleshoot and resolve production issues across front‑end, back‑end, and data layers.
- Implement CI/CD pipelines, unit testing, version control, and monitoring best practices.
- Collaborate with actuarial stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver high‑quality solutions.
Required profile
- Self‑driven engineer comfortable working in Agile environments.
- Ability to wear multiple hats: developer, tester, and business analyst.
- Strong communicator bridging technical and business stakeholders.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or related field, or equivalent experience.
