Fullstack Software Engineer

About the role

Collective is looking for a Fullstack Software Engineer to build and scale the accounting platform that connects members' bank activity, bookkeeping, and tax outcomes. You will work across the stack, collaborating with product, design, operations, and the in‑house accounting team to ship features quickly and iterate based on feedback.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and ship member‑facing reconciliation and bookkeeping features as well as internal tooling for accounting operators.
• Extend and maintain integration APIs with banking and accounting partners, handling edge cases and improving data reliability.
• Enhance the transaction pipeline for reliability, observability, and drift detection from bank feeds to the data layer.
• Own well‑scoped features end‑to‑end, from design through deployment and instrumentation.
• Leverage AI‑powered development tools (copilots, code agents) to accelerate coding and reduce manual overhead.

Required profile

• 3–4 years of production software experience in a product‑focused environment.
• Strong full‑stack engineering background with Python/Django and React (or similar frameworks).
• Proven ability to integrate third‑party APIs and work with messy real‑world data.
• Hands‑on experience using AI developer tools such as copilot or code agents in daily work.
• Clear communication skills for translating technical trade‑offs to non‑technical partners.
