FullStack Engineer - WordPress

About the role

SOFTSWISS is expanding its team and is looking for an experienced FullStack Engineer focused on WordPress. The role is fully remote and sits within the CMO / Marketing department. You will create fast, scalable and visually polished web solutions with modern PHP and frontend technologies, building custom themes and plugins and helping with technical architecture and code quality.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain custom WordPress solutions with a focus on scalability, performance and user experience.
• Build modern, responsive frontend interfaces and robust backend functionality.
• Integrate third-party services and APIs to support product and business needs.
• Work closely with design and product teams to deliver high-quality digital experiences.
• Improve code quality, development workflows and platform performance using modern tools and AI-assisted development practices.

Required profile

• Strong commercial experience with WordPress development.
• Good knowledge of PHP 8+ and MySQL.
• Experience with custom WordPress theme and plugin development.
• Good knowledge of JavaScript (ES6+).
• Git version control and clean, maintainable, scalable code principles.
• Upper-intermediate English and Russian (B2+).

Required skills

• HTML5, CSS3, SCSS/SASS and strong adaptive, cross-browser layout skills.
• Modern frontend build tools such as Vite and Webpack.
• REST API and third-party service integrations.
• Nice to have: Laravel or other PHP frameworks, frontend animations (GSAP, three.js), SEO and performance optimisation, Docker and CI/CD, UX/UI basics.
