Digital Product Owner - Mobile App

About the role

Manulife is seeking an experienced Digital Product Owner to lead the strategy, roadmap, delivery and ongoing optimization of its mobile app. The role champions user-centered design while balancing customer needs, business priorities, technical feasibility, security and regulatory requirements, working with design, engineering, analytics, marketing, operations and compliance teams.

Key responsibilities

• Drive product discovery and strategy: use analytics, research, usability testing, app store reviews, support feedback and competitive analysis to refine product strategy, and own the mobile product roadmap.
• Lead agile delivery: take part in sprint planning, backlog refinement and stand-ups, prioritize the backlog and communicate progress, risks and decisions to stakeholders.
• Oversee user acceptance testing and work with engineering and QA to validate quality, accessibility, security, performance and compatibility.
• Analyze mobile product data (adoption, activation, engagement, retention, conversion, crashes, latency) and partner with data and engineering teams on tracking, event taxonomy and reporting.
• Plan rollouts and go-to-market activities, including phased releases, customer communications, support readiness and training, and monitor adoption metrics.
• Manage stakeholder relationships, set decision rights and escalate risks and unresolved decisions to leadership.

Required profile

• 5-7+ years of product management or product ownership experience, with a track record of delivering and optimizing customer-facing mobile or digital products.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience; product management or agile certifications (CSPO, SAFe, Pragmatic Institute) are a plus.
• Proven cross-functional collaboration with design, engineering and marketing, without direct people management responsibilities.

Required skills

• In-depth knowledge of the mobile product lifecycle, including app store submission, release planning and change management.
• Experience with iOS and Android ecosystems, mobile analytics, API integrations, authentication and app store operations.
• Experience partnering with legal, compliance, privacy and security teams on regulatory and enterprise requirements.
• Lean, Scrum and Kanban approaches and Jira.
• Preferred: mobile experimentation and personalization, mobile UX and accessibility, and familiarity with AI trends.
