About the role
The University of Miami/UHealth Department of Pediatrics is seeking a full‑time Therapist to provide evidence‑based therapeutic care to children and families. The role focuses on treating mental, emotional, and behavioral disorders within a family‑systems framework.
Key responsibilities
- Interview, evaluate, and assess patient needs; develop individualized treatment plans.
- Deliver individual, group, and family counseling sessions.
- Provide Parent‑Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT) for children with disruptive behaviors or risk of maltreatment.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary service teams to coordinate psychosocial services.
- Prepare progress notes, clinical summaries, and confidential case records.
- Enter PCIT data into REDCap or related databases and track program metrics.
- Serve as liaison to external service providers, courts, and treatment centers.
- Adhere to university policies and safeguard institutional assets.
Required profile
- Licensed therapist with experience treating cognitive, affective, or behavioral disorders in children and families.
- Familiarity with a variety of assessment techniques and family‑systems theories.
- Strong ability to interact with patients of varying ages and psychosocial needs.
- Commitment to ongoing education, training, and research.
Required skills
- Parent‑Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT) certification or experience.
- Proficiency with REDCap or similar data‑entry systems.
