Full-Time Security Officer - Residential Apartments

About the role

Allied Universal, a security and facility services company, is hiring a full-time Security Officer for residential luxury apartments in Irvine, California. The officer acts as an Access Control Officer, helping keep the community welcoming and secure by managing entry points, verifying access credentials, monitoring activity and supporting residents and visitors.

Key responsibilities

• Serve residents, guests and service providers by carrying out security procedures, site policies and, when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Control access to the community, verify visitor and vendor authorization, and keep accurate access logs and records.
• Respond calmly to incidents and access concerns, notifying site contacts and emergency personnel as needed.
• Carry out regular and random patrols of common areas, parking areas, building entrances and the perimeter.
• Communicate professionally with residents and site staff, reporting maintenance concerns, policy violations and unusual activity.

Required profile

• At least 6 months of security-related experience.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Age 18+ for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• Subject to a background investigation and a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• A valid driver's license is required only for driving positions.

Preferred qualifications

• CPR and First Aid certification.
• Access control and badge experience.
• Customer service experience.
• A guard card or license.
