Full-Time Security Officer - Controlled Entry Operations

About the role

Allied Universal, a security and facility services company, is hiring a full-time Access Control Officer in Pontiac, Michigan. The officer supports a technology, media and telecommunications location, managing entry points, verifying credentials, monitoring access activity, conducting routine patrols and assisting visitors and employees professionally.

Key responsibilities

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, contractors and delivery personnel by carrying out access control procedures, site-specific policies and, when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Monitor access points, verify credentials and visitor authorization, maintain visitor logs and direct authorized individuals in line with site procedures.
• Respond calmly to access-related incidents, alarms and critical situations, escalating concerns according to established protocols.
• Carry out regular and random patrols of entry points, restricted areas, parking areas and the business perimeter to deter unauthorized access.
• Prepare clear and accurate reports of incidents, access activities and unusual observations and share them with site leadership and Allied Universal supervision.

Required profile

• At least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Subject to a background investigation and a drug screen to the extent permitted by law; licensing may be required depending on state and local laws.
• A valid driver's license is required only for driving positions.
