Full-Time Program Aide (Classroom & Kitchen Support)

About the role

This full‑time Program Aide position supports classroom and kitchen activities for infants and toddlers, including those with developmental or physical delays. The role involves traveling between classrooms and centers as needed to ensure smooth program operations.

Key responsibilities

• Assist classroom staff with daily schedules, lesson plans, diapering, mealtimes, and naptimes.
• Supervise children during meals, encouraging nutrition and social skills.
• Maintain a clean, orderly classroom environment and support teachers with tasks such as copying newsletters and preparing materials.
• Implement individual plans for children with special needs according to their IFSP.
• Perform janitorial duties: empty trash, sanitize surfaces, keep playgrounds safe and debris‑free.
• Support kitchen operations by cleaning, sanitizing, assisting with food preparation, and ensuring dishes are properly handled.
• Report safety or health concerns to the supervisor and attend required trainings.
• Follow Head Start performance standards, local licensing regulations, and maintain strict confidentiality.

Required profile

• Ability to work collaboratively within a team and travel between multiple sites.
• Comfort working with infants and toddlers, including those with developmental delays.
• Commitment to following cleaning, sanitation, and safety policies.
• Understanding of Head Start/Early Head Start standards and confidentiality requirements.
