Full-Time Pharmacist – Deerfield Beach

About the role

The University of Miami Health System is seeking a full‑time Pharmacist for its UHealth Deerfield location. You will work in a clinical pharmacy environment, ensuring safe preparation and dispensing of medications while supporting patient care teams.

Key responsibilities

• Implement and maintain procedures for mixing, packaging, and labeling pharmaceuticals in compliance with policies and legal requirements.
• Compound and dispense medications prescribed by physicians and dentists, accurately measuring and mixing ingredients.
• Calculate medication volumes and dosages to achieve desired therapeutic outcomes.
• Assess identity, strength, and purity of medications.
• Review prescriptions for accuracy, ingredient requirements, and suitability.
• Provide drug information, including interactions, side effects, dosage, and storage guidance.
• Analyze prescription trends to monitor patient compliance and prevent inappropriate use.
• Maintain pharmacy records, inventory, and controlled substance registries.
• Advise patients on medication brands, medical equipment, and healthcare supplies.
• Adhere to university and unit policies, safeguarding assets.

Required profile

• Pharm.D. degree from an accredited institution.
• Valid State of Florida pharmacist license.
• Minimum of 1 year of relevant pharmacy experience.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Sound judgment for critical decision‑making.
