Full-Time Pharmacist – Coral Springs

About the role

The University of Miami Health System is seeking a full‑time pharmacist to join its UHealth Coral Springs pharmacy. The role involves ensuring safe, accurate, and compliant preparation and dispensing of medications while providing expert counseling to patients and staff.

Key responsibilities

• Implement and maintain procedures for mixing, packaging, and labeling pharmaceuticals in accordance with policies and legal requirements.
• Compound and dispense medications prescribed by doctors and dentists, calculating, weighing, measuring, and mixing ingredients.
• Calculate medication volumes to ensure proper dosages.
• Assess the identity, strength, and purity of medications.
• Review prescriptions for accuracy, required ingredients, and suitability.
• Provide information on drug interactions, side effects, dosage, and storage.
• Analyze prescription trends to monitor patient compliance and prevent inappropriate usage.
• Maintain pharmacy records, patient profiles, inventories, and controlled‑substance registries.
• Advise customers on medication brands, medical equipment, and healthcare supplies.
• Adhere to university and unit policies, safeguarding assets.

Required profile

• Doctorate degree in Pharmacy (PharmD) required.
• Valid State of Florida Registered Pharmacist license.
• Minimum 1 year of relevant pharmacy experience.
