Full-Time Groundskeeper

About the role

The State of Georgia, through Albany Technical College, is seeking a full‑time Groundskeeper to maintain the campus grounds. The position works under the general supervision of the Grounds Supervisor and involves a variety of landscaping and maintenance tasks.

Key responsibilities

• Mow grass, weed, edge beds, and plant seeds, bulbs, trees, and bushes.
• Apply herbicides, pesticides, and treat areas for mosquitoes, fire ants, and other insects.
• Distribute pine straw and mulch around trees and buildings.
• Collect trash and debris and perform preventative maintenance of grounds areas.
• Operate large power lawn mower, edger, hand tools, and other vehicles associated with ground maintenance.

Required profile

• Valid state driver’s license.
• Ability to lift up to 40 pounds regularly and work outdoors in extreme weather.
• Good oral and written communication skills and ability to read and follow instructions.
