About the role
Charleston School of Law seeks entry‑level and lateral candidates for full‑time, tenure‑track faculty positions beginning in the 2027‑2028 academic year. Successful hires will teach core courses such as Constitutional Law, Business Organizations, Contracts/Sales, as well as Legal Research, Analysis, Writing, and Foundations of Legal Practice.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and deliver in‑person courses in the listed subject areas.
- Engage in scholarly research and publication.
- Contribute to service activities and collegial governance.
- Mentor students and support the law school’s public‑service mission.
Required profile
- J.D. or equivalent degree.
- Active license to practice law in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
- Relevant law‑practice experience.
- Commitment to high‑quality teaching, scholarship, service, and collegiality.
Required skills
- Expertise in constitutional law, business organizations, contracts, or legal research and writing.
