Associate Attorney - Family Law

About the role

Sarji Law Firm is seeking a dedicated Associate Attorney to join its legal team in Charleston. The associate provides legal representation to clients navigating the family court system, working on a variety of family law cases including divorce, child custody, support and domestic violence matters.

Key responsibilities

• Represent clients in family court proceedings for divorce, custody, support and protective orders
• Prepare and draft pleadings, motions and other legal documents
• Conduct legal research and recommend case strategies
• Negotiate settlements and work with opposing counsel when appropriate
• Interview and counsel clients while maintaining confidentiality
• Manage case files and deadlines
• Take part in mediation, hearings and trials as needed
• Keep up to date with family law statutes and court procedures

Required profile

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school
• Admission to the state bar and in good standing
• 2+ years of experience in South Carolina Family Court
• Litigation experience is required
• Ability to manage a diverse caseload and excellent communication skills
