Full-Time Contract Clinical Research Nurse (Travel)

About the role

Lightship is seeking an energetic, independent, and compassionate Clinical Research Nurse to join its virtual‑first clinical trial team. This short‑term, full‑time contract position involves delivering nursing care to study participants in their homes, Mobile Research Units, and clinic facilities across Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, and North Carolina.

Key responsibilities

• Assist investigators and study staff in the successful implementation of clinical research protocols.
• Provide direct nursing care to participants, including vital‑sign collection, assisted physical examinations, ECG performance, and biospecimen collection.
• Process, package, and ship ambient, refrigerated, and frozen samples using dry ice as required.
• Administer investigational medications (topical, oral, IM, IV injection, IV infusion) and educate patients on proper use.
• Document all study data accurately in paper and electronic records.
• Identify and report findings, issues, or potential adverse events to the Principal Investigator.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for participants, investigators, and study personnel, addressing questions in a culturally appropriate manner.

Required profile

• Registered Nurse with experience in clinical research or clinical trial settings.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Willingness to travel extensively (approximately 90% of work time).
• Strong attention to protocol compliance and documentation.
