Full Stack Developer

About the role

The IT Division of the New York City Department of Correction is seeking a Full Stack Developer to design, build, and maintain enterprise web and mobile applications as the agency moves toward a mobile‑first strategy.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain web applications using ReactJS and modern JavaScript/TypeScript.
• Build and support backend services with Java and Spring Boot.
• Create cross‑platform mobile apps with React Native, including native module integration.
• Implement native iOS (Swift/Objective‑C) and Android (Kotlin/Java) features as required.
• Design responsive, accessible UIs that function reliably on managed enterprise devices, even with intermittent connectivity.
• Handle offline‑first data flows, local persistence (SQLite), synchronization, conflict resolution, and encryption at rest.
• Participate in DevOps CI/CD pipelines for automated build, testing, security scanning, and deployment.

Required profile

• Baccalaureate degree in Computer Science, Engineering, HCI, Interactive Media, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• At least four years of full‑time experience in software development or a comparable combination of education and experience.
