Frontend Software Engineer

About the role

Intrinsic, Google’s AI robotics group, is looking for a Frontend Software Engineer to build modern web applications that serve as the primary interface for robotic workcells on the manufacturing floor. You will create intuitive, high‑performance user interfaces that connect human operators with physical robots.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop responsive web UIs using modern frameworks and reactive patterns.
• Build and optimise real‑time 3D visualisations of workcells.
• Develop human‑robot HMIs that control and monitor robotic tasks.
• Integrate frontend services with backend systems via gRPC and Protobuf.
• Ensure resilience and high availability of web applications across factory‑floor devices.
• Prototype AI agents within the HMI to assist operators.
• Maintain code quality with unit and integration tests and manage builds using Bazel and CI/CD pipelines.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of professional experience building modern web applications.
• Strong focus on technical precision and rapid iteration.
• Ability to own critical parts of the user experience and make UI design decisions.
• Comfort collaborating with product, design, and engineering teams.

Required skills

• JavaScript / TypeScript and modern web frameworks.
• Reactive design patterns for real‑time telemetry.
• gRPC and Protobuf for low‑latency communication.
• Bazel build system and CI/CD pipelines.
• Unit and integration testing.
