FP&A Analyst, New Products
LifeScan
Job description
About the role
LifeScan, a global leader in blood glucose monitoring and digital health technology, is creating a dedicated New Products pillar within its FP&A organization. The New Products FP&A Analyst supports financial planning, business case development, investment evaluation, forecasting and performance tracking for new product and innovation initiatives, from concept through development, commercialization, launch and post-launch scale-up. This is a newly created, high-visibility role combining strategic finance, investment analysis, portfolio management and business partnership. Candidates must be located in the Greater Philadelphia area, commutable distance to Radnor/Wayne for future hybrid work.
Key responsibilities
- Build business cases for new product initiatives with Product, Commercial, Marketing, BI and Operations teams, translating market opportunity, pricing, channel strategy and cost assumptions into revenue, margin, EBITDA, cash flow and investment models.
- Build financial scenario models (pricing, volume ramp, cost structure, launch timing) and support leadership in prioritizing, accelerating, deferring, redesigning or stopping initiatives.
- Support the annual budget, rolling forecast and long-range plan for the New Products portfolio, and convert approved business cases into phased budgets.
- Help configure ERP and EPM planning systems (e.g. JD Edwards, Hyperion, Hubble) to capture and report New Products financial data accurately.
- Maintain a financial scorecard/KPI dashboard linking actuals to business cases, budgets and forecasts, and run variance analysis with Accounting & Controllership.
- Prepare financial models, performance summaries and narratives for senior leadership and Board-level reviews, and partner with the broader FP&A team.
Required profile
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business or a related discipline; Master's, MBA or professional finance qualification is advantageous.
- Typically 3-5 years of progressive experience in FP&A, strategic finance, corporate finance, commercial finance or investment analysis, ideally with exposure to new product introductions or growth initiatives.
- Experience partnering with cross-functional teams and senior stakeholders, and working independently in a newly established function.
- Willingness to work in a fast-paced environment and support occasional off-hours requirements.
Required skills
- Advanced Excel financial modelling, scenario analysis, forecasting and NPV, IRR, payback and sensitivity analysis.
- Understanding of product and commercial economics (pricing, volume ramp, margin, working capital, cash flow).
- Experience with ERP and EPM planning systems (JD Edwards, Hyperion, Hubble or similar) and reporting tools.
