Senior Accountant, Inventory Accounting

About the role

Boston Scientific is looking for a Senior Accountant in Inventory Accounting to provide finance and accounting technical knowledge and execution to its Global Business Services (GBS) and the Finance Department. The role involves managing complex inventory accounting activities independently so that financial reporting is accurate and timely. The position is hybrid, combining work from home and on-site.

Key responsibilities

• Execute inventory journal entries, including adjustments, reclassifications and accruals, and review and guide complex entries such as reserves and accruals.
• Reconcile inventory balance sheet, subledger and manual accounts, and act as escalation point for complex reconciliations and subledger-to-general-ledger differences.
• Investigate and resolve discrepancies in inventory valuation, reserves and movements, and prepare, review and analyse monthly and annual inventory reports.
• Support GBS and Finance in maintaining inventory balance sheet accounts and inventory reporting matters.
• Lead continuous improvement and standardisation of inventory accounting across legal entities, own technical documentation, accounting guidance and training materials, and create and maintain DTPs/SOPs.
• Deliver on agreed KPIs and service levels, and partner with GBS, Finance, Supply Chain, Commercial, Tax, Internal Audit, SOX control and IT on complex inventory issues.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or a related field.
• 4+ years of experience including General Ledger and Inventory Accounting, with demonstrated technical expertise and stakeholder advice.
• English proficiency of 80%+, strong written and verbal communication, and ability to simplify complex accounting topics.
• Strong analytical judgment, independence, attention to detail, teamwork and organisational skills.

Required skills

• Intermediate to advanced Microsoft 365 and Microsoft Power Platform.
• SAP experience preferred, especially inventory, material movements and valuation.
• Preferred: additional languages, process migration experience, shared services experience, Copilot use, Excel queries and macros, process improvement methodologies.
