Sr Accountant, ATR - Inventory Accounting

About the role

This role provides finance and accounting technical knowledge and execution to GBS and the Finance Department in Inventory Accounting. You will independently manage complex inventory accounting activities to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.

Key responsibilities

• Execute inventory journal entries, including adjustments, reclassifications and accruals, and provide technical review and guidance on complex entries such as reserves, reclasses and accruals.
• Reconcile inventory balance sheet, subledger and manual accounts, including balances, reserves and in-transit activity, and act as escalation point for complex reconciliations and subledger-to-general-ledger discrepancies.
• Investigate and resolve discrepancies in inventory valuation, reserves, movements and related accounts, and support their resolution.
• Prepare, review and analyse monthly and annual inventory reports, maintain reporting controls and communicate findings and recommendations to stakeholders.
• Support GBS and Finance in maintaining inventory balance sheet accounts and inventory reporting matters.
• Identify and lead continuous improvement, standardise processes across legal entities, own standardisation, lead root-cause analysis and create and maintain DTPs/SOPs and technical documentation.
• Partner with GBS, Finance, Supply Chain, Commercial, Tax, Internal Audit, SOX control and IT to resolve complex inventory issues.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or a related field.
• 4+ years of experience including General Ledger and Inventory Accounting, with demonstrated technical expertise and stakeholder advice.
• English proficiency of 80%+; strong written and verbal communication, analytical judgment and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently, simplify complex topics and balance multiple priorities.

Required skills

• Intermediate to advanced Microsoft 365 and Microsoft Power Platform.
• SAP experience preferred, especially inventory, material movements and valuation.
• Preferred: additional languages, process migration experience, shared service environment, Copilot use, Excel queries and macros, process improvement methodologies.
