Founding Full-Stack Engineer

About the role

A stealth, seed-stage startup is hiring a Founding Full-Stack Engineer for its AI-powered wearable platform for industrial field technicians. The product runs a real-time computer-vision and agentic AI system directly on smart-glasses hardware, with major data-center, energy and industrial customers worldwide. It is backed by a $5M seed round and founded by researchers from Harvard/NASA and MIT. The engineer owns the product layer end-to-end, working directly with the founding team in a small, high-ownership environment.

Key responsibilities

• Build and own the real-time pipeline linking wearable hardware to the AI system, under tight latency budgets and unreliable connectivity
• Design and ship backend APIs and the core data layer
• Build the frontend and mobile client used by customers every day
• Work closely with the founding team in a fully on-site setting in the SF Bay Area, with an intense, in-person pace

Required profile

• 2-5 years shipping scalable production systems end-to-end, ideally at an early-stage startup
• Full-stack range covering backend/API/data layer and frontend/mobile
• Experience with real-time, low-latency systems, such as streaming platforms or hardware-constrained domains like drones, robotics or autonomous driving
• Some exposure to hardware-constrained or on-device work

Required skills

• Backend and API development
• Frontend and mobile with React and React Native with native bridges
• Streaming platforms such as Twitch, YouTube, Mux, Cloudflare, Agora or LiveKit
• Particularly valuable: real-time video, on-device/edge experience, strong front-end/UX craft, and having shipped an AI/LLM/agent pipeline into production

What we offer

• Base salary of $180,000-$240,000
• Equity of 0.25%-0.75%
• Visa sponsorship available (O-1, TN, E-3, H-1B1, H-1B transfer, F-1 OPT/STEM OPT)
