Founding Engineer - AI/ML Product

About the role

An early-stage AI/ML company is looking for a founding engineer to join its team and work closely with the co-founders to build its product and technical foundation. The company turns real-world company data into datasets that help AI agents handle complex work. The position is full-time and on-site in San Francisco.

Key responsibilities

• Architect and build core product infrastructure and systems.
• Make technical decisions that establish the engineering foundation.
• Collaborate with the co-founders on product strategy and the roadmap.
• Contribute across full-stack development, DevOps and system design as needed.
• Mentor and hire engineers as the team grows.

Required profile

• At least 5 years of experience building and shipping production software systems.
• Experience designing and implementing backend or full-stack systems at scale.
• A track record of shipping quickly, making pragmatic technical trade-offs and communicating effectively in a small, collaborative team.

Required skills

• Strong fundamentals in at least one backend programming language and experience with modern web frameworks.
• Comfort with full-stack development and cloud infrastructure such as AWS, GCP or similar.
