Forward Deployed Engineer

About the role

Roboflow is looking for Forward Deployed Engineers to turn validated proof‑of‑concepts into production‑grade computer vision deployments. You will work closely with customers, embedding with their engineering teams to build, test, and launch the first end‑to‑end vision workflows.

Key responsibilities

• Take pre‑sales proofs of concept and build the first production deployment, including data pipelines, model optimization, edge device configuration and integration with customer infrastructure.
• Embed on‑site with customer teams for 4–12 weeks, transfer knowledge, document architecture and create runbooks for hand‑off to Implementation Engineers.
• Identify and mitigate technical risks early, and provide feedback to product and engineering to shape future platform capabilities.

Required profile

• Hands‑on experience deploying technology in physical‑world environments such as factories, warehouses or construction sites.
• Strong interpersonal skills to build trust quickly with engineers, executives and machine operators.
• Willingness to travel 40–50% for on‑site deployments.

Required skills

• Python programming.
• Systems‑level tools: Docker, Kubernetes, Linux networking.
• Experience deploying ML/computer‑vision models to production.
• Edge computing hardware knowledge (e.g., NVIDIA Jetson, industrial cameras).
• Debugging and troubleshooting of real‑world vision pipelines.
