Forward Deployed Engineer (Chicago)

About the role

Aikido Security is looking for a Forward Deployed Engineer to own end‑to‑end deployments of its AI‑powered pentest product for enterprise customers. Based in Chicago, you will work directly with clients to install, configure, and troubleshoot complex on‑prem and hybrid cloud environments.

Key responsibilities

• Own enterprise deployments from initial install to a stable, healthy setup.
• Debug incidents in customer environments (Docker, PostgreSQL, networking, agents, etc.).
• Handle complex enterprise constraints such as proxies, firewalls, egress rules, internal CAs, air‑gapped setups, and custom security requirements.
• Build and adapt integrations (SSO, IdP, internal PKI, custom setups) as needed.
• Guide customers through implementation and initial usage in complex environments.
• Improve deployment and update flows based on field feedback.
• Act as the technical bridge between customers and engineering, translating issues into clear bugs and product improvements.

Required profile

• Strong infrastructure and networking fundamentals.
• Comfortable debugging Linux systems.
• Ability to read Go, TypeScript, or Python code to trace problems.
• Basic offensive security knowledge (RCE, SSRF, session handling).
• Excellent communication skills and a customer‑focused mindset.
• Resides in Chicago.
