Forklift Tire Technician

About the role

Michelin North America, Inc. is hiring a Forklift Tire Technician for Solideal Onsite Service in St. Louis. The technician installs and services forklift and other material handling tires in-house and onsite, works under the direction of the Service Manager and gives input on customer service and operational improvement. Training is provided for any skills needed.

Key responsibilities

• In-house and onsite installation of forklift and other material handling tires using a hydraulic tire press
• Dismount, mount tires and service the customer product as specified by the customer order
• Perform preventive maintenance and keep all equipment, including service vehicles, clean
• Report to the Service Manager any material that does not meet quality standards, equipment needing maintenance, delays at customer sites, potential equipment issues, accidents or safety concerns
• Work in a tobacco-free environment, in a service vehicle exposed to noise and temperature extremes, and in an industrial setting

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent experience
• Valid driver's license
• Able to lift up to 75 pounds; lift assist is available
• Must be at least 21 years old
• Must pass a urine drug screen and DOT physical, and a background check, as a condition of employment
• Ability to work independently, with punctuality, attention to detail and effective communication with customers

Required skills

• Knowledge of MS Office Suite and an ERP system is a plus but not required
• Mechanical experience is preferred but not required
