Food Service Worker – Elbert Shaw RYDC

About the role

Under direct supervision, you will learn to prepare, heat, and finish cooking food items, serve customers, and handle payments in a food service environment at the Elbert Shaw RYDC facility.

Key responsibilities

• Cleans work areas, equipment, utensils, dishes, and silverware.
• Prepares food by cleaning, peeling, slicing, and trimming using manual and electric appliances.
• Assists with food supply requisitions, sanitation, and maintenance inspections.
• Receives payment for food items and handles cash transactions.
• Replenishes supplies of food, condiments, and equipment at steam tables and service bars.
• Stores food in designated containers to prevent spoilage.
• Unpacks and stores raw and prepared food products.

Required profile

• An equivalent combination of knowledge, education, job or internship experience, training, or certifications that provides the necessary knowledge and skills.
• Preferred qualifications may be added by the agency.
