Food Service Coordinator

About the role

Fresh Thyme Farmers Market, part of Meijer, is hiring a Food Service Coordinator in St. Louis. The coordinator plans, directs and supervises team members in the day-to-day operations of their department, delivering customer service through ordering, receiving, stocking and displaying products while maintaining cleanliness and food safety. The pay range is $16.05-$25.15.

Key responsibilities

• Help schedule staff, select and hire, and support succession planning and promotion decisions
• Review sales, labor and margin plans, sales goals, supply costs and shrink results
• Prepare, package, stock and display merchandise, ensure price-change compliance and order manual items
• Supervise and train the department team in the manager's absence, including stocking, pricing and removing out-of-code products
• Keep the backroom neat, ensure products are properly priced and advise customers on consumer products
• Follow ServSafe certification, food safety and ad-set compliance, and keep the team trained

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent
• 2-3 years of related retail experience and 1 year of management experience
• Natural foods experience is a plus
• ServSafe certification
• Reliable, consistent attendance

Required skills

• Clear communication and conflict resolution
• Managing multiple tasks and analyzing financial and statistical information
• Mentoring team members, including hourly workers
