Food Clerk - Afternoon Deli Shift

About the role

Meijer is hiring a Food Clerk for its Petoskey, Michigan store, working the afternoon shift in the Fresh departments. The role delivers customer service through product knowledge, efficient service and a friendly attitude, while handling a variety of retail tasks related to product, customer service and merchandising.

Key responsibilities

• Build positive connections with customers and teammates.
• Share product knowledge and help customers find what they need.
• Maintain full, fresh and visually appealing product displays.
• Stock, rotate and merchandise products according to standards.
• Use technology to complete tasks efficiently and accurately.
• Follow food safety, sanitation and quality procedures.
• Work across departments including Meat, Seafood, Bakery, Deli, Produce and Grocery.
• Support other tasks as needed to keep operations running smoothly.

• Attention to detail, organization and ability to follow processes and safety standards.
• Calm, focused approach in a fast-paced environment.
• Willingness to be physically active, including lifting, bending, twisting and standing for extended periods.
• A passion for working with customers every day.
• Previous retail or food service experience is helpful but not required.
