About the role

Meijer is hiring an Afternoon Service Associate (cashier) for its store in Petoskey, Michigan. As a cashier, you are the last touchpoint a customer has before leaving the store, crafting quality customer experiences through efficient, effective service in the checkout lane.

Key responsibilities

• Become knowledgeable about Meijer programs and promotions to assist customers
• Create welcoming, memorable checkout experiences
• Use Meijer systems to complete transactions efficiently and accurately
• Handle cash and payments responsibly, with attention to detail
• Communicate clearly and confidently, using friendly eye contact and positive body language
• Answer customer questions and help resolve concerns
• Support other tasks as needed to keep operations running smoothly

Required profile

• 18 years of age or older
• Enjoys working with people and providing great service
• Comfortable learning and using technology
• Dependable, detail-oriented and eager to help
• Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting, bending, twisting and standing for long periods
• Previous retail or customer service experience is helpful but not required
