Floorhand (Rig Based)

About the role

The Floorhand provides essential support on the drilling rig, working directly under the Driller and Rig Manager to ensure safe and efficient drilling operations. This hands‑on position involves a variety of physical tasks on the rig floor, from equipment handling to routine maintenance.

Key responsibilities

• Follow company policies, procedures and safety standards, exercising stop‑work authority when needed.
• Identify and report hazards, incidents, equipment or system failures.
• Participate in pre‑tour and pre‑task meetings and work under direction of the Driller.
• Perform maintenance and repairs on rig equipment as instructed.
• Assist with tripping operations and operate pipe‑handling equipment on the drilling site.
• Maintain housekeeping on the rig floor, offices and accommodations.
• Train and mentor new Floorhands assigned to the rig.

Required profile

• Successful completion of pre‑hire physical assessment and drug screening (urine and hair follicle).
• Ability to climb and work at heights up to 175 feet.
• Completion of all mandatory company training as defined by the People Development process.

Required skills

• Operation of pipe handling equipment.
• Maintenance and repair of rig equipment.
