Float Pharmacist - Full Time

About the role

Meijer is hiring a full-time Float Pharmacist for its Champaign, IL store. The pharmacist plays a personal role in the community by making sure patients receive the medication and care they need, practicing in an environment that promotes patient care and education, including consultations and immunizations. The pharmacist mentors and trains pharmacy technicians and, when the pharmacist in charge is absent, is responsible for pharmacy operations.

Key responsibilities

• Fill prescriptions safely and accurately.
• Maintain positive relationships with patients, team members and leadership.
• Educate and mentor pharmacy technicians and hold them accountable for results.
• Perform and oversee clinical services, including immunizations, where allowed.
• Resolve patient needs through listening and customer service.
• Be competent in Meijer policies and procedures and state and federal laws.
• Prioritize workload and communicate effectively.

Required profile

• Bachelor of Science degree or Doctorate of Pharmacy.
• Licensed pharmacist in the state of practice (Illinois).
• Certified Immunization Pharmacist (except Indiana).
• Registered and licensed in the state of practice.
• Experience in retail or community practice.

Required skills

• Working knowledge of pharmacy systems and policies and procedures.
• Understanding of regulations in the state where the unit operates.
