Flight Operations Training Intern

About the role

SkyWest Airlines Flight Operations Training is looking for interns to join its team at the SLC Flight Training Center. This is a paid internship of 8 hours per week, based at the training facility near the Salt Lake City airport. Interns review new hire pilots' logbooks and verify they meet the experience requirements needed to advance in training, while observing ground and simulator pilot training.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Director of Training in making sure new hire pilots meet the experience requirements for the Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) certificate.
• Review new hire pilots' logbooks, certificates, endorsements and transcripts to confirm compliance with 61.159 and 61.160.
• Help resolve discrepancies about experience requirements and communicate issues to leadership.

Required profile

• At least 18 years old, U.S. citizen or able to prove right to work in the U.S.
• Commercial Pilot Certificate with Multi-Engine and Instrument ratings, and an English Proficiency Endorsement on the airman certificate.
• Current Certified Flight Instructor certificate.
• 400 to 1,200 total flight hours and 100 hours of dual instruction.
• Must live near Salt Lake City; this is not a remote position and availability on Tuesdays is required.
• Experience verifying pilot logbook experience for FAA check rides.
