Flight Nurse – Critical Care Transport

About the role

Air Evac Lifeteam is seeking a dedicated Flight Nurse to join its air transportation team. You will provide critical care to patients during helicopter or ground transport, ensuring safety and high‑quality medical support from departure to hand‑off at the receiving facility.

Key responsibilities

• Assess each transport situation and determine the optimal care plan for adult and pediatric patients.
• Monitor, treat, and support critically ill or injured patients in accordance with physician orders.
• Maintain a clean, well‑stocked aircraft, perform regular equipment checks, and follow all safety briefings and protocols.
• Communicate effectively with air and ground crews, dispatch, medical facilities, and partners.
• Document all patient care and regulatory information accurately and timely.
• Stay current with required certifications and ongoing training.

Required profile

• Minimum three years of experience in an Emergency Department or Adult Critical Care setting as a licensed RN.
• Current RN license for the states where you will operate.
• EMT certification where required by state.
• Current BLS, ACLS, PALS certifications; NRP certification provided during training.
• Trauma certification where required.
• Advanced certification (CEN, CCRN, or CFRN) to be obtained within 24 months of hire.
