Fitness Floor Assistant

About the role

The University of Miami/UHealth department of The Miami Project is seeking a full‑time Fitness Floor Assistant to support members in wellness programs, exercise training, and fitness area operations in Miami, FL.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct health assessments, develop and implement training regimens, and provide motivated fitness coaching.
• Review health history questionnaires, identify risk factors, and coordinate medical clearance when needed.
• Manage member intervention and fitness data using relevant software programs.
• Assist with personal training sessions and educational fitness workshops.
• Answer member questions, demonstrate equipment use, and enforce policies and safety procedures.
• Supervise fitness areas and classrooms, inspect cardio, training, and functional equipment for damage or misuse.
• Maintain a clean, well‑stocked fitness environment and ensure equipment readiness.
• Support wellness program orientations, educational initiatives, and marketing campaigns.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent; relevant experience, certification, or license.
• Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience in fitness or wellness settings.
• Strong learning agility, teamwork, and communication skills.
• Ability to follow university policies and safeguard assets.
