About the role
The Daphne Fire Department seeks certified firefighters to join its team on 24‑hour shift rotations. This non‑transport service role involves responding to fire, hazardous material, and rescue emergencies.
Key responsibilities
- Respond to fire alarms and all fire‑related emergencies.
- Perform firefighting, rescue, and hazardous‑material response tasks.
- Operate and maintain fire‑fighting equipment and station property.
- Attend ongoing training and certification classes.
Required profile
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum age of 20 and insurable under city insurance.
- Successful completion of pre‑employment drug screen, physical, and city screening process.
- Valid Alabama driver’s license and Firefighter I/II certification.
Required skills
- Certified Firefighter (Firefighter I/II).
- Basic EMT certification.
- Hazardous Materials Technician (to be obtained within one year of hire).
- Ability to perform heavy physical labor and operate firefighting equipment.
