About the role
The Financial Technician supports the U.S. Attorney’s Office Civil Division by organizing, analyzing, and reconciling financial records to aid forensic accounting and legal investigations.
Key responsibilities
- Review, organize, and digitize financial records such as bank statements and invoices.
- Convert financial data into structured, analysis‑ready formats and maintain records in spreadsheets or databases.
- Classify transactions, track sources and uses of funds, and reconcile discrepancies.
- Analyze data to detect anomalies, support asset tracing, and prepare financial summaries and reports.
Required profile
- U.S. citizenship.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of 2 years experience in accounting, bookkeeping, or financial analysis.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to handle sensitive financial information with discretion.
Required skills
- Microsoft Excel proficiency, including pivot tables and advanced formulas (VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, INDEX/MATCH, SUMIFS).
- Experience reviewing and reconciling financial records.
