Financial Specialist III

About the role

The Financial Specialist III provides complex clerical, accounting, and customer service support for East Texas A&M University, ensuring all disbursements comply with state and university policies.

Key responsibilities

• Administer all disbursements for university divisions and verify accuracy of departmental reimbursement information.
• Prepare vouchers in accordance with State Purchasing, General Services Commission, and Comptroller regulations.
• Utilize FAMIS, eProcurement, and eTravel systems to audit encumbrance documents, process payments, and manage accounts‑payable filing.
• Act as liaison between faculty, staff, and vendors to ensure compliance with state regulations for invoices and travel vouchers.
• Prepare daily reports for audit, manage cash‑disbursement entries, and serve as primary contact for AggieBuy/Mane Market eProcurement queries.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent; six years of related experience in accounts payable.
• Knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications; ability to analyze financial information and maintain confidentiality.

Required skills

• Advanced accounts payable practices.
• Experience with FAMIS, Laserfiche, eTravel (Emburse), and US Bank online procurement/travel card systems.
